Crime Tips:

The Marblehead Police Department accepts Crime Tips via Email.  A voice message may also be left for the Detective Division at (781) 631-1212.  Crimes in progress or other requests for emergency assistance should be reported by calling 911.

Weapons & Ammunition Disposal Program:

The Marblehead Police Department offers an on-going Weapons & Ammunition Disposal Program to assist residents who have handguns, shotguns, rifles, ammunition, old military ordinance and personal defense sprays like mace to safely and legally turn these items in for appropriate disposal.

North Shore Drug & Anti Crime Task Force:

The North Shore Drug & Anti Crime Task Force has members representing police departments in Marblehead, Swampscott, Salem, Peabody, Beverly and Danvers.  It works cooperatively on cases involving cross-jurisdictional drug trafficking and distribution as well as the investigation, apprehension and prosecution of those engaged in serious criminal activity within the member communities.  Anyone with information or tips regarding narcotics or criminal activity occurring within the task force's area may confidentially contact the Marblehead Police Department.

North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council:

The North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) consists of member police departments in forty-five cities and towns in Essex County and Middlesex County.  Each participating department provides manpower that forms the nucleus of the Regional Response Team (RRT) and its specialized sister organization, the Special Weapons and Tactics unit (SWAT) along with specialized units investigating cyber crime, advanced accident reconstruction and a NEMLEC detective information sharing project.  A large-scale endeavor of NEMLEC is the School Threat Assessment and Response System (STARS) that provides specialized resources to the Town in the event of violence-induced school emergencies.
