Complete Streets Public Forum

The Marblehead Complete Streets Committee met with the public for the first time on March 6, 2019.  The meeting was held to review the Committee’s work to date, especially the DRAFT priority list of Complete Streets projects.

After the presentation by the Town’s consultant was given, (click here for presentation) the public was invited to weigh in on the projects by placing green dots next to those projects they liked and yellow dots next to those they thought were lower priority, or less important. The input received by the public and the dots posted by the public at the conclusion of the meeting will help guide the Committee in its selection of a final list by the end of March.  Click here for the ‘dotted’ list of tentative projects.  A couple of additional projects were also suggested at the meeting by attendees.  These projects will be addressed at an upcoming Committee meeting.

The Committee would like to submit a prioritized list of projects to MassDOT prior to April 1, so Marblehead will be able to submit 1-2 projects  prior to May 1 and October 1, 2019.  Submitted projects will compete with other Massachusetts communities to be eligible for potential MassDOT Complete Streets Program funding assistance of up to $400,000 annually.  Funding assistance may be used for construction costs only.
