Congregate Meals and Home-Delivered Meals
Congregate Meals - Served at the Senior Center

    >    Age 60 or more
    >    Spouse of senior age 60 or more

The Council on Aging sponsors luncheon meals every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:00 noon at the Senior Center, as well as on the first and third Thursday of each month. These meals provide 1/3 of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) for senior citizens, but more importantly, these meals give seniors the opportunity to socialize while lunching.

Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. The suggested donation for lunch is $2.25 for seniors age 60 or more, however, no one is turned away due to inability to make a donation. The cost for those under age 60 is $2.50.

Special luncheons are also scheduled to celebrate holidays and special occasions. These luncheons often include entertainment and reservations fill up quickly.

Menus are developed by a team of nutritionists and are low salt, have 600-800 calories and provide 1/3 of an elderly person's daily nutrition.

Call 781 631-6737 to make a reservation.

Also known as "Meals on Wheels," home-delivered meals are available for eligible seniors Monday through Friday. Meals are delivered by staff between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Assessment is required. Frozen meals are available for weekends when the need exists.

48 hours is required to start meal delivery. Special diets and Kosher meals are available when indicated. Suggested donation for meals is $2.25 per meal, however, no one is turned away due to inability to make a donation.

Menus are developed by a team of nutritionists and are low salt, have 600-800 calories and provide 1/3 of an elderly person's daily nutritional requirements.

Meal delivery also serves as a check on those seniors receiving the meals. If a recipient is not at home when the meal is delivered, the driver alerts the staff at the Center who contact the recipient's emergency contact person so that a check can be made.
