When Do I have to license my dog?
All dogs in town must be licensed at 3 months of age in accordance with state law. The cost of the license is $15.00. All dog licenses expire December 31st each year.  Dogs must be licensed by January 31st to avoid additional fines.  The Town by-law allows for a $25.00 fine to be assessed every 30 days starting February 1st.  A rabies certificate is required to obtain a dog license. You may obtain a rabies certificate from your veterinarian.

Renewing Dog Licenses
All dog licenses are renewed on an annual basis according to state law. The re-licensing period in Marblehead for dog licenses is January 1st through January 31st. This office sends out a registration form with the annual census each year.

You may renew your dog license by mail if you send a copy of your rabies certificate from your vet, appropriate fee and a self addressed stamped envelope.
