The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency
(MEMA) coordinates federal, state and local agencies and private resources throughout the Commonwealth during times of disaster or other emergency situations.
Disasters and similar emergencies most often occur at the local level. It is the intent of MEMA to assist Massachusetts’ communities in being prepared for responding to and recovering from such situations.
Marblehead Emergency Management
Marblehead Emergency Management is composed of a core group of representatives from several Town departments. The group meets periodically to review and improve upon Marblehead’s emergency response plans.Marblehead Emergency Management, in corporation with the Engineering Department, has also developed a Hazard Mitigation Plan to respond to natural disasters such as flooding, hurricanes and blizzards.
Disabled Identification Registry
Marblehead Emergency Management, in a cooperative effort with the Marblehead Fire Department and the Marblehead Disabilities Commission, urges residents with disabilities who would require special assistance in the event of an emergency to provide their information to the Disabled Identification Registry.
