When are town employees paid?
Town employees are paid every Thursday, with checks being available after 10:30 am. For employees who have direct deposit, your pay will be electronically transferred to your bank account on Thursday morning. Warrants authorizing the payroll are prepared each Tuesday for the approval of the town accountant and the Board of Selectmen.
When can current and retired employees join one of the Town's health insurance plans?
Current and retired Town employees may become a member of one of the Town's health insurance programs during the annual open enrollment period. Open enrollment for the Town is conducted in April and early May each year, with coverage beginning the following July.
Direct Deposit of Employee Pay Check
The Town of Marblehead offers its employees the option of Electronic Funds Transfer, a safe and convenient way for town employees to receive their pay. Electronic Funds Transfer allows for an employee's pay to be electronically deposited into their bank account, eliminating the possibility of the check being lost or stolen. To receive your pay via Electronic Funds Transfer you must complete and return a Direct Deposit Authorization form available at the Payroll Office or in PDF format by clicking on the link above.
