When We Meet
- The Board of Commissioners has three members who are elected to three-year, staggered terms.
- The Commission sets policy, establishes regulations and oversees the Cemetery budget.
- The Cemetery Department is administered by a Superintendent, appointed by the Commissioners, who has jurisdiction over all Town Cemeteries.
Meetings are held At 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday in March, June, September and December (unless otherwise posted) at the Cemetery Office Building in Waterside Cemetery.
What We Do
The Cemetery Department is responsible for the complete maintenance of Waterside Cemetery as well as Harbor View Cemetery. The Recreation and Parks Department is responsible for the cutting and trimming of the grass at Old Burial Hill, Harris Street, and Green Street Cemeteries. The Cemetery Department takes care of any other maintenance that is needed at these historic cemeteries.
